Summary:
The experimental approach of this project is based on the design an application of electrochemical nanostructurated biosensor for the detection of specific nucleic acids extracted from cancer cells. For this purpose, biomodification of nanostructurated electrodes with nucleic acids will be carried out; different synthetic oligonucleotides as DNA sequences, Locked Nucleic Acid (LNA) and Peptide Nucleic Acid (PNA) will be tested as specific bioreceptors. The immobilization step, the hybridization step as well as the labelling procedures will be optimized. Analytical parameters such as sensitivity, specificity and reproducibility will be evaluated in standard solutions as well as real samples.
